The Wedding of Vi & Huy

Vi & Huy held their wedding reception in the Marquee at Victoria Park with ceremony on-site at the Marquee Terrace. Recently the pair sat down to discuss their big day with the Victoria Park team.

Tell us about your journey together, from how you met, to what the proposal was like!

We first met on the story bridge for the food festival. We were set up by our friends on a blind double date. The proposal was so romantic. Huy had a picnic setup and proposed right under the story bridge where we first met 5 years ago.

What (besides the obvious ‘I do’) was your favourite part of your wedding?

We definitely enjoyed celebrating with all our loved ones, and dancing the night away.

Tell us about your decorations and wedding styling – did you incorporate anything new / a theme? What did you choose for your wedding entertainment and guest favors?

We wanted our wedding to be very elegant, classy and timeless, so we reflected that with our white, gold and pink theme. For guest favors we decided to make customized agate coasters, which tied in well with our theme. For entertainment we had a traditional lion dance, which is done to bless us for a long and happy marriage. We also had a live band which everyone really loved.

What’s the best piece of advice you can give other brides to be?

Even though the planning process can be really stressful, just enjoy your time being engaged.

Would you recommend Victoria Park to other people getting married?

Definitely yes! The staff were so helpful from start to finish. We just had the best day ever!
