The Wedding of Samantha & Martin

Samantha & Martin held their wedding reception in the Garden Marquee at Victoria Park with ceremony on-site at the Courtyard. Recently the pair sat down to discuss their big day with the Victoria Park team.

Tell us about your journey together, from how you met, to what the proposal was like!

We first started dating back in 2017 and we realized early on that we had so much in common, from our common interests in the health industry to our love of travelling and our furry friends. Fast forward to February 2020, a picnic at Howard Smith Wharves turned into the realization we will be spending the rest of our lives together, when Samantha said ‘Yes’.

What (besides the obvious ‘I do’) was your favourite part of your wedding?

Both the wedding ceremony and reception with all our loved ones were very memorable.

Tell us about your decorations and wedding styling – did you incorporate anything new / a theme? What did you choose for your wedding entertainment and guest favors?

We used Beautiful Weddings for our reception styling and Jacqui Millar for the flowers for the arbor and the reception for a theme of elegance and simplicity. We had Sarah Archer as our wedding singer and we used biscuit favours from Madcakes by Maddie.

What’s the best piece of advice you can give other brides to be?

Have someone video your day from start to finish as it really does fly by.

Would you recommend Victoria Park to other people getting married?

Yes, we would. Victoria Park made our special day truly one to remember with how well it all came together, from our Wedding Planner Jen to our Function Manager Hudson to all the staff that were involved in our day.
