Where It All Began

Brenna and Rolance’s May 2025 wedding began with a heartfelt ceremony in our Alabaster Room, followed by an unforgettable reception in the Garden Marquee.

Their Victoria Park Experience

“We loved our wedding at Victoria Park. We found the whole experience very stress-free and every staff member willing to help and assist wherever possible. We ended up needing a wet weather plan and even though it rained the day was still amazing and the planners took the stress out of the whole day.”

A special thanks to those who helped bring Brenna and Rolance’s dream day to life.

Plan Your Special Day at Victoria Park

Tell us about your journey together, from how you met, to what the proposal was like!

We matched on Bumble at the end of April 2023. Timothy was my first online date EVER and I really did not expect to meet the love of my life on a random Saturday morning in May. Everything went so fast. We unofficially moved in with each other two weeks after our first date and started talking about getting married soon after. Sometimes, when you know, you just know.

The proposal took place in January 2024 on a rock pier in Langkawi, Malaysia. Under the guise of taking a sunset photo with my back to the camera, I was caught completely unaware by four separate cameras and the love of my life down on one knee with a rock in his hand and tears in his eyes. He could barely manage more than a few sentences due to being extremely emotional, but words weren’t necessary at this point anymore. After he asked, “Will you marry me?”, I said yes and made unintelligible whale noises when I saw the ring and screamed loud enough that the next island could hear. We then went to a restaurant for dinner to celebrate. One of the highlights of our lives so far.

What does marriage mean to you?

For us, marriage means committing to a partnership for life with your significant other. It is making the decision to love the other person every day for the rest of time and supporting each other through the dark times in life. Additionally and very importantly, building a safe place and stable home for children to grow up in and support them through their lives too.

What, besides the obvious ‘I Do’, was your favourite part of your wedding?

The favorite part of our wedding was definitely being able to celebrate our forever love with our friends and family from all over the world. Timothy and I danced for hours and drank too much while being surrounded by so much support and love. It was magical!

What’s the best piece of advice you can give other brides to be?

Stay focused on the goal and do not get caught up in the nitty gritty… it is a once in a lifetime experience.

Why did you choose Victoria Park?

Victoria Park was the perfect wedding location for us! From the stunning outdoor ceremony to the breathtaking parklands, every detail exceeded our expectations. The parklands were absolutely perfect for our photoshoot, providing a beautiful backdrop for our special moments. The Garden Marquee was amazing, creating the ideal atmosphere for our celebration. Our day was truly magical, and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful venue. Highly recommend Victoria Park to any couple looking for a picturesque and unforgettable place to say ‘I do’!

A special thanks to those who helped bring Debbie and Timothy’s dream day to life.

Tell us about your journey together, from how you met, to what the proposal was like!

I first met Dylan at a local park in Paradise Point. I was struck by Dylan’s handsome looks, kindness, and laughter, and I knew from that very first date in the park that I had found someone special. Dylan answered all 50 of my questions correctly, and I was already feeling like this could be something truly amazing.

We couldn’t keep away from each other in the following weeks. Before we knew it, weeks turned into months, and months turned into years. On October 7th, 2023, Dylan surprised me with a private helicopter ride to The Overflow Estate 1895. During a wine tasting experience, Dylan got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I cried and shook my head in disbelief. Later, Dylan had planned the most romantic hotel getaway, followed by a romantic dinner in the city. It was the fairytale proposal I had always dreamed of!

What does marriage mean to you?

To us, marriage means loving each other unconditionally and always having each other’s backs, no matter what. It’s about living life to the fullest together and growing old side by side.

What, besides the obvious ‘I Do’, was your favourite part of your wedding?

Our wedding day was truly magical! We had what felt like a royal ceremony at St John’s Cathedral, followed by a stunning reception at Victoria Park. We enjoyed every moment of the day, but if we had to choose, the golf buggies with our bridal party for photos and the dance floor were definitely the highlights. And, of course, the fireworks were the perfect ending to our celebration!

What traditions, new and old, did you incorporate in to your wedding and why?

My younger sister unfortunately could not be with us on my wedding day, so I incorporated something special of hers close with me throughout the day. I also bought a sign and some candles to place in the reception room that said, “these candles burn for our loved ones that can’t be with us today”.

Tell us about your decorations and wedding styling!

I absolutely loved planning the styling and design for our wedding reception. My vision was to keep everything timeless, traditional, and elegant. I had the pleasure of collaborating with the incredible team at Beautiful Weddings to bring my dream wedding to life, including designing the perfect bouquets for myself and my bridesmaids, as well as the floral and candle arrangements.

I also wanted to add my own personal touches to make the day extra special. I placed newspapers on the tables for our guests to enjoy, featuring fun facts about us as a couple, mini crosswords, and cute little pink love-heart pencils. I also created personalized mini cards to be placed on the guest menus, encouraging everyone to take photos throughout the night and upload them to a shared album. My partner and I also loved the idea of glow sticks, so we incorporated this into our night and it was epic! We had a gelato cart for cocktail hour and a photo booth until 11pm. It was all such a wonderful and unforgettable night!

Why did you choose Victoria Park?

Dylan and I can’t speak highly enough about the incredible team at Victoria Park. From Jordyn in the Sales team, who gave us a wonderful tour and explained all the packages, to Loz, who was there every step of the way, answering any questions or concerns I had throughout the 11-month planning process, and finally to Demi, who helped bring our personal touches to life on the big day. We highly recommend Victoria Park to any couple looking to get married!

What’s the best piece of advice you can give other brides to be?

Stay on top of the planning! Do things early so you can enjoy the final few weeks leading up to your special day. I found being organised and having spreadsheets and lists helped us stay on top of payments and deadlines. The reminders app saved my life!

A special thanks to those who helped bring Amelia and Dylan’s dream day to life.

Plan Your Special Day at Victoria Park

Tell us about your journey together, from how you met, to what the proposal was like!

David and I met when we were 17 years old working in hospitality. It was at my 18th birthday party that David showed interest and we had our first date a couple of days later. Fast forward several years and we graduated university, travelled abroad, bought our first home, and even welcomed our fur child together.

Unbeknownst to me, David had planned to propose during our holiday to the UK in September 2022. We went for an early morning walk in Hyde Park London, and when we had stopped near the pond to watch the sunrise, David popped the question. I was so happy in that moment that he chose my favourite city to propose in, and the rest of the holiday felt like a celebration of our engagement.

What does marriage mean to you?

Marriage means supporting your partner every day, loving them unconditionally, and doing things they love even if you don’t.

What, besides the obvious ‘I Do’, was your favourite part of your wedding?

Our favourite part of our wedding was celebrating our marriage with all of our loved ones and being grateful for the support they had provided us individually and as a couple in the lead up to our wedding.

What traditions, new and old, did you incorporate in to your wedding and why?

Our wedding was pretty traditional in the sense that we didn’t see each other before the ceremony, did a father-daughter dance, had speeches and did a cake cutting. Some non-traditional elements of our wedding included the bridesmaids wearing ivory dresses, and not having a bridal table so that our bridal party could sit with their partners.

Tell us about your decorations and wedding styling!

We engaged Beautiful Weddings to do our styling and we opted for an ivory colour scheme because we loved the timeless and elegant look. I also knew I wanted to have some input into the styling so I created our wedding menus, place cards and table numbers. We even created QR code signs for our guests to use the guest cam feature with our photo booth. Our reception was in the Garden Marquee which was already a stunning room with the city skyline, so we didn’t feel the need to go too overboard with styling.

What’s the best piece of advice you can give other couples planning their wedding?

Be organised! There are so many working parts in planning a wedding from the location, vendors, guests, styling, etc. that it can get very overwhelming if you don’t stay on top of your due dates and expenses. I found using excel spreadsheets to be of great assistance with this.

What was your experience like with Victoria Park

We are really grateful for Loz who was our wedding planner. She was there whenever we needed our queries answered and went above and beyond to ensure our day went as planned.

A special thanks to those who helped bring Mackenzie and David’s dream day to life.

Tell us about your journey together, from how you met, to what the proposal was like!

Isaac and I met 7 years ago and started dating within the first month of knowing each other. We have travelled Europe together, the UK, Honolulu and Maui and many trips domestically. We have a beautiful Rottweiler named Duke, and in the past 2 years we have gotten engaged and rebuilt our home, all while planning a wedding and getting married.

Isaac proposed on our 5th year anniversary completely unplanned at home right before going to dinner. He had planned to propose at Noosa that weekend, but wasn’t able to because of the snap lockdowns in 2021, instead now the 29th of July is extra special. We still did our picnic at Noosa as he planned but now, we have 2 special days to remember. We also got married on the 29th, so you could definitely say 29 is our number!

Having all our beautiful family and friends together in the same place at the same time. We had guests travel from all over Australia and the Netherlands, so to have them all together celebrating our day felt very special and very surreal at times. We loved having our ceremony in the Greek Church – having that tradition from my family but also loved having our photos taken at sunset on the hills at Victoria Park – was something very special for Isaac. We also loved everyone getting involved into Greek dancing, and being up on the dance floor celebrating our night.

Tell us about your decorations and wedding styling – did you incorporate anything new / a theme? What did you choose for your wedding entertainment and guest favours?

For our styling, we took a few ideas from different places and joined them all together. I’m a colour person, so originally our florals were going to be colourful. However the more photos we saw, the more we liked the idea of a more timeless theme. All our stationery was black and white, including table numbers, menus, welcome sign and seating chart, and guest book. Our guest favours were clear acrylic boxes with our initials printed on the front.

We had our dance floor and elevated bridal table installed by staging creations, which we loved as our bridal party could see all our guests from our table. Our florist and I spoke a lot about incorporating bright, green foliage into our white floral pieces to create a fresh tropical feel at our reception. We love the coast, and beach so wanted to incorporate those themes, as well as the traditional feel of having our ceremony in a church – the feeling of both our families together. We hired lots of candles, made our cake the centrepiece of our dance floor, which was great as the whole cake got eaten and nothing went to waste. For our guest menus we made them double-sided with guest names on one side, and menu on the other- saving on additional name cards and stationery. We loved how our whole room came together!

The black and white theme also carried through with all the boys in black tux, and my bridesmaids wore blush which gave a pop of colour against the white and green flowers.

What’s the best piece of advice you can give other brides to be?

Soak it all up! From the night before and the morning of with your bridal party, parents, and family, to your last song at your reception, enjoy it all. Laugh lots, embrace having all your special people together, and enjoy celebrating the love you both share together.

We made the most of our whole day and appreciated all the little moments. Our photos say it all – we really had the best day and couldn’t keep the smiles off our faces.

Would you recommend Victoria Park to other people getting married?

We would definitely recommend Victoria Park. We knew after attending a charity ball there 2 years prior that it was where we wanted our reception to be. The beautiful green scenery, and city background are great for photos, and we loved how open the inside and outside areas are.

A big tick for both of us was the food, which was what originally drew us to the venue, and being able to place bottle of spirits on each guest table. We booked the Marquee which had its own massive bar, and deck with a stage for our band to play during canapes. The golf buggy’s for our bridal party photos were also very a fun and different thing to do.

A special thanks to those who helped bring Ellie and Isaac’s dream day to life.
