Tell us about your journey together, from how you met, to what the proposal was like!

We met at schoolies 10 years ago and felt an instant connection towards one another. We started dating one month later and the rest is history. We have travelled overseas, exploring many beautiful cities and countries together over the last 9 years. We have a gorgeous cavoodle, Harvey, who is our fur-baby, and we had him as our ring bearer for our wedding.

Nic took me away to Maleny for our 9 year anniversary and had organised a private picnic at the stunning, one tree hill. It was during this picnic that he proposed.

What does marriage mean to you?

Marriage to us means teamwork, feeling safe and having undivided love for one another. Being married to someone is having someone you can rely on and always confide in. It means getting through the dark times together and facing challenges as a united team.

What, besides the obvious ‘I Do’, was your favourite part of your wedding?

The whole day was so amazing and looking back on it, there is nothing we would change. We loved that everyone was up on the dance floor and the end of the night with us having a boogie to our favourite songs!

What’s the best piece of advice you can give other brides to be?

Try to avoid all the outside noise! It’s hard not to get influenced by family, friends and social media. Stay true to what both you and your partner want. Do things that will make you happy and don’t worry about what others day – it is your day!

Why did you choose Victoria Park?

Victoria Park was an incredible venue to host our wedding. The professionalism of all the staff involved in our special day was outstanding. We loved the affordability of the packages and were able to tweak them to add our personal touch. It is such an elegant wedding venue, and having the city as your backdrop is so special.

Victoria Park made the whole planning process so seamless and the day ran so smoothly. Couldn’t recommend Vic Park enough!

Details of the day

Keely and Liam’s wedding at Victoria Park was nothing short of magical. Held against the stunning backdrop of Brisbane’s city skyline and lush parklands, their special day was a celebration of love, simplicity, and elegance.

Their ceremony took place on the Ballroom terrace, offering panoramic views of the parklands and city skyline. Surrounded by their nearest and dearest, Keely and Liam exchanges vows in a heartfelt ceremony adorned with neutral florals for a timeless atmosphere.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds took a stroll around the venue’s surrounds and parklands for a post-ceremony photoshoot, capturing the essence of their love amidst the natural beauty of Victoria Park.

As the sun began to set, the festivities continued in the Garden Marquee. True to its name, the Garden Marquee boasts head-to-toe glass walls, providing enviable views over the parklands and beyond. Against this beautiful backdrop, Keely, Liam and their guests danced the night away, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

We met through a mutual client of ours (Giuseppe trained her in the gym, I did her eyebrows). After cancelling a few too many dates, I decided to put myself out there and go on that date. That date turned into many, and it wasn’t long after that we officially started dating.

Then came the proposal. It was move-in day and I was in my gym gear cleaning the house and organising the kitchen. Our parents and siblings were helping us out too. We were called outside to get some photos together by the pool, when all of a sudden Giuseppe got down on one knee and asked me if I would marry him in front of all our loved ones. It was the most magical day, and one we will never forget.

What does marriage mean to you?

Marriage to us means a lifelong commitment and partnership with the one you love. But for the most part it means family. Living with the love of your life and your kids is priceless.

What, besides the obvious ‘I Do’, was your favourite part of your wedding?

Celebrating our love for each other in front of our family and friends.

What traditions, new and old, did you incorporate in to your wedding and why?

As the bride, our Greek tradition is for me to stay at my parents’ house the night before, wake up and get ready with my mum and bridesmaids. The morning consists of lots of food, and, of course, the family arrives once I’m dressed and ready to celebrate my wedding day. We also have a Greek bouzouki player come, and my grandma sings a song she has written herself about how happy she is that I’m getting married to the man of my dreams.

What’s the best piece of advice you can give other brides to be?

Enjoy the planning and the journey, and don’t stress over the small stuff.

Why did you choose Victoria Park?

Victoria Park is known to put on the most beautiful weddings! We saw the Marquee and were instantly blown away; the room and the chandeliers hanging from the ceiling were definitely a stand out!

Tell us about your journey together, from how you met, to what the proposal was like!

Our journey started nearly nine years ago when we met in New Zealand. We have been living in Brisbane for some years now and got engaged three years ago on the Gold Coast. I had no idea it was about to happen and it was the most surprised I have ever been!

What does marriage mean to you?

Doing life with your best friend, having a family, and making the most out of every day with the one you love.

What, besides the obvious ‘I Do’, was your favourite part of your wedding?

It was so special to have our families come together from different countries to witness our marriage and celebrate with us!

What’s the best piece of advice you can give other brides to be?

To really enjoy the planning stage! It is such a special process, deciding on suppliers to create your perfect day! I had so much fun speaking to different suppliers. Also, decide on a budget that’s right for you and stick to it! It is really easy for things to add up quickly! Having a budget and tracking the cost of everything helps.

What traditions, new and old, did you incorporate into your wedding and why?

My Mother in Law, Lusia, made 65 beautiful woven necklaces (Samoan Ula) and each guest was given one as they entered the reception. It was really special to be able to incorporate that.

Why did you choose Victoria Park?

Victoria Park was the perfect venue! With family arriving from overseas it was important to have the ceremony and reception at the same venue and Victoria Park had great options to choose from! Thanks to the excellent organisation and communication from the Victoria Park weddings team in the lead-up to our wedding we did not have to worry about a thing and could enjoy every minute of our special day. Also, the park provided the perfect location for our photos, and they turned out great!

Tell us about your journey together, from how you met, to what the proposal was like!

Andrew and I met at work, where we are both engineers. We have mutual friends who introduced us at drinks after work one day, and we quickly discovered that we had a lot in common!

We bonded over our love for almond croissants and country music and the rest is history. Andrew proposed on an early morning hike up at the sunshine coast hinterlands. It was a beautiful day, and we celebrated with lots of champagne and a lovely weekend away.

What does marriage mean to you?

To us, marriage is more than just a legal or religious ceremony. It is a vow to share your life and your heart with the person you cherish the most. It is also a wonderful chance to get everyone you love in the same room to celebrate your love and families coming together.

What, besides the obvious ‘I Do’, was your favourite part of your wedding?

Celebrating with our family and friends, and the dance floor!

What traditions, new and old, did you incorporate in to your wedding and why?

We ended up having a very traditional wedding, marrying at Albert Street Uniting Church before moving across to Victoria Park for our reception. We had the cake, the bridal party and of course all the speeches! We loved having a traditional day and know it will stay timeless throughout our lifetime.

What’s the best piece of advice you can give other brides to be?

There can be lots of pressure from friends, family and social media on what the perfect wedding looks like! It can be tricky to decide what you want to include, but you just need to remember it’s YOUR day, so make sure you do what makes you happy!

Why did you choose Victoria Park?

Victoria Park was an incredible venue for our wedding. The food and drinks were amazing, and the professionalism of the staff was second to none.

We loved that there were lots of options included in the package, and we had a lot of flexibility in terms of room set up and personalisation on the day. The Ballroom was a beautiful space, that didn’t require much decorating to make it an elegant wedding venue.

We loved being able leave at the end of the night and not worry about a thing! Thanks Vic Park!
