Kids School Holiday Golf Lessons

Daily classes, Monday – Thursday  |  9am – 11am  |  $55 per class

Week 2: Monday 8 April – Thursday 11 April 2024

Each day the kids will get to learn new skills and aspects of the game that will help them be able to play and enjoy golf. The friendly team of PGA Golf Professionals will provide daily instruction utilising both the driving range and short game areas. Lessons are split into two groups- 4 – 7 years and 8 – 14 years and all equipment is provided. Bring a hat, sunscreen, morning tea and water!

School Holidays – Kids Starting New at Golf (SNAG) – Aged 4 – 7

Mondays – Operation Games Day
Start the week off with an introduction to the great game of golf. Our coaches will play plenty of fun general sports games with the kids, focusing on developing coordination skills (throwing, catching, jumping) and physical skills (balance, hand-eye coordination, movement sequence). Day 1 the kids will get to know the basics of using both a driver and putter while learning technical skills, distance control, posture, aim and an introduction to the “TV pose.”

Tuesdays – Incredible Irons
Expanding on what was learnt in the first day, the kids will move on to an introduction to the basics of irons. This will involve more fun games to keep the kids entertained, as well as revisiting the putting skills taught in day 1 to make sure the kids are remembering what they are learning!

Wednesdays – Super Short Game
This is one of the most important aspects of the game of golf. The kids will get to go outside onto our short game area so a hat and sunscreen is a must today! Putting on an actual golf green will give the kids a chance to test their skills from the first two days and gain a greater understanding of what real golf is about. The short game day will finish on the range to work on chipping and understanding the importance of aiming at targets and distance control.

Thursdays – Little Golfing Gods
To finish off the week, the kids will get the chance to play a modified game of golf on the driving range using the Trackman Golf Simulator. This will get them understanding how to use all the clubs and shots they have learnt through the first three days. To attend this session the kids must have attended at least 2 of the days earlier in the week or completed a Victoria Park Junior Program previously.

School Holidays – Kids Level 1 Golf Classes – Aged 8 – 14

Mondays – Sky Driving
Kick start the week with an introduction to the biggest club in the bag, the driver! The kids will be shooting for the sky as they learn the fundamentals of using the driver with the coach’s tips on technical skills like grip, rotation and balance. Alongside this, the kids will play competitions using targets on the driving range and understand the importance of where, when and how to use the driver in a round of golf.

Tuesdays – Incredible Irons
Building on what was covered in the first day with drivers, the kids will move onto learning the fundamentals of irons. While using the targets on the driving range, the kids will continue to learn about swing fundamentals, aim, ball flight and technical skills.

Wednesdays – Super Short Game
The morning will cover the fundamentals of chipping and putting – arguably the most important parts of the golf game. The kids will learn where and when to putt and how to control distance plus reading a green. After putting, its time to get the ball on the green by using the wedge!

Thursdays – Little Golfing Gods
For the final day the kids will get an introduction of how to play golf. Our Trackman Golf Simulator on the range is the perfect way to gain an introduction to playing golf. All the skills learnt over the last week will be revisited before putting these new-found golf skills to the test! To attend this session, the kids must have attended at least 2 of the days earlier in the week, or completed a Victoria Park junior program previously.
