The Wedding of Kat and James
The Victoria Park team were delighted to celebrate the wedding ceremony and reception of Kat and James recently in The Marquee.
Ever since I was a little girl I dreamt of getting married in a marquee, Victoria Park had the beautiful views without having to go out into the hinterland which made it really convenient for all of our overseas guests to stay close in Brisbane CBD.Having been to multiple functions at Victoria Park I knew the food was always of such high quality. My favourite dish was the Pumpkin Ravioli with ricotta, hazelnuts, red chard and fig salad with a masala caramel dressing! So delish!
The Marquee already entails beautiful drop down chandeliers, dark navy carpet with an elegant bar which set’s the standard high. We decorated further with navy table cloths and gold candelabras and flower arrangements alternate. The Stylised team helped accentuate the already beautiful furnishing by giving just enough styling without going over the top.
What challenges did you and James face on the day or in the lead-up to your big day?
Having so many people travelling from overseas to attend our wedding, I was faced with making sure everyone was taken care of in between the ceremony and reception and they did not have to go and find something to do. The venue made it so easy with the option of canapes and drinks on the deck, discounted Putt Putt for our guests and allowing me to have my own musicians to entertain people.
Just take the time to enjoy the moment, after working so hard to plan the most beautiful day it is important to sit back and allow the events to take place. I had the most efficient MC who worked with the Victoria Park team to make sure all my timings and details of the evening were running to plan. I consider myself a perfectionist for small details so this was hard to do but was well worth it as I had the most amazing time with my new husband and if anything didn’t go to plan I was not made aware of this which I truly appreciate!
And what’s the one thing you’d tell other brides-to-be considering Victoria Park?
Victoria Park as a venue and their team are very experienced in running multiple weddings across all of their different rooms. I was greeted as soon as my limo arrived and was ushered away at the end of the night without any hassle. If you are looking to have a wedding with amazing food and scenic views this venue will make sure it is truly the most memorable day of your lives.
Definitely the food, after being to a few other weddings with family they cannot go past how amazing our food was. Not something they had expected from a function center and competes highly with five star dinning. This was a huge relief for us to hear as you do spend a lot of money looking after your guests and to still have people raving months later that it was a stand out night is all any bride and groom could hope for.
Your most precious memory of the day?
The ceremony is still my favourite memory, having the backdrop of the views and all of my nearest and dearest watching us exchange vows under the pillar made for great memories and beautiful photos.
